lyrics
if you wanna go dancing on the carpeted floor, that’s fine
just take your shoes off in the pile by the door
but, if nothing lasts forever you can leave them on
like the chain i wear around my neck, an image of god
well, the implication don’t mean nothing at all
when the facts stand in front of you, like 10 feet tall
but i’m trying to make it clear, my aim is true
won’t do anything at all if it ain’t for you
the pied piper wrote a letter, a little better, than the song i sing
but i wouldn’t ever tell you, tell you that truth, like the song i sing
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Simple unassuming lo-fi pop? Initially I thought so, but I’m not sure. There’s something deliberately artful and captivating in these compositions. They simply fill a musical space that’s been empty for a long long time. Gordon Frisbie
Longrunning Bay Area group Lunchbox draw on the hard-edged and stylish sound of 70s mod for their latest full-length. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 23, 2024
Terrific jangle pop with an edge, somewhere between Television Personalities and R.E.M. with a bit of Kinks in there, too. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 2, 2023
