lyrics
build me up to break me down
build me up while i’m still around
build a case against myself
or maybe, just a big bookshelf
with a quarter in my pocket just the shape of the same locket
that i put around your bunny, oh god i love you honey
if you could see all the faces, all the ever changing places
like i needed a reminder, what i need is $400
build me up to break me down
build me up while i’m still around
build a case against myself
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Simple unassuming lo-fi pop? Initially I thought so, but I’m not sure. There’s something deliberately artful and captivating in these compositions. They simply fill a musical space that’s been empty for a long long time. Gordon Frisbie
Longrunning Bay Area group Lunchbox draw on the hard-edged and stylish sound of 70s mod for their latest full-length. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 23, 2024
Terrific jangle pop with an edge, somewhere between Television Personalities and R.E.M. with a bit of Kinks in there, too. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 2, 2023
